5 Ways to Get Out of the Doldrums

pathwayWe can control our feelings by the thoughts we think. Sounds great! Sounds easy! The fact is:  it is very difficult to change our thinking once it has started down a negative pathway. Here are  5 ways to get out of the doldrums and get onto the path that moves you toward your dreams.

1. Allow a positive thought to float through your mind. Just think, “There is hope. Things will get better.”

2. Say a prayer. Ask God to help you. Ask him specifically for what you want.

3. Allow a picture to form of something positive you want in your life.

pathway34.  Give thanks. Look around you and list some things you are thankful for. Even ordinary things like kittens or daisies.

5. Pray for others who may have much worse problems than you do. I think you will find that you are feeling better, and things will look completely different for you.

Do these things over again and  you will spiral upward until you are once again on top, seeing clearly the way things really are. You will once again be able to evaluate things from God’s perspective.

  1. Great post! It is a hard habit to break but with God’s help ANYTHING is possible!
