Daily Dare: Dare to Love

Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;

Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. Psalm 91: 5, 6

In simpler words, do not fear terror, the arrow, pestilence or destruction. In even simpler words, do not fear. How do you “not fear”?The answer is :Love.

Perfect Love casts out fear. I John 4:18

God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7

The whole chapter of 1 John 4 enlightens us on love.

Love yourself. Love others, Above all love God. Love your family. Love your country. Above all, love God. Let thoughts of appreciation, kindness and respect flow through your mind. Love always thinks the best. Love never fails. Love hopes. Love believes in and expects the best.

So much of life, if not all of life has to do with the thoughts that run through our minds. I have known this for a long time and I still marvel at the truth of it. I also marvel that so few seem to realize this, and I marvel that even knowing it, I have yet to take full advantage of it. Letting “love thoughts” flow through our minds is going to flush out “fear thoughts.” That is the message of this hour. That is the dare for today. Picture water flowing over rocks in a mountain stream. The pressure of that clear water is going to remove everything in its path. The raging water is going to obliterate every blockage so that it can flow freely with power and force reaching its destination.

That’s us. We love freely, we live freely, we pray freely. We pray in faith. Things happen. Things change. All because perfect love casts out fear. Do not be afraid for the terror by night, nor for the arrow that flieth by day, nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness, nor for the destruction that wasteth at noon day. Love.

Daily Dare: Dare to love your country today by believing the best, expecting the best, and hoping for the best. Let love thoughts for the United States of America flow through your mind. Let love, appreciation, and respect  rule your mind as you declare One nation, under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all.
