Welcome to 31 Days of “Dare to Pray”

pray copyWelcome to 31 Days of Dare to Pray! This is my first time with the 31 Days Writing Challenge, but not my first challenge of the year. Four Challenges grabbed me and wrapped their loving arms around me this year. I embraced every one of them: Joyce Meyers’ 3030 Bible Meditation Challenge in March. In April, the A to Z Challenge called my name, and I answered with zest. I was beaten by 40 Bags in 40 Days during Lent, but the bags are waiting patiently yet to be filled before the year ends. Just last month I accepted the 30 day Hope for America Challenge which I feel God personally laid on my heart. I had already planned to continue praying for America every day through October when the 31 Days Writing Challenge knocked on my door. Of course I opened it. I feel like I have uncovered the mother lode in finding the 31 Dayers. Find the details here: write31days.com and join us.

Prayer-LaubachWhen you stop over here to visit Dare to Be Happy this month, you will find inspiration and motivation to pray. We will discover insights in the little book called, Prayer, the Mightiest Force in the World,  by Frank Laubach. Published in 1946, this 127 page book contains boundless wisdom and simple answers for the why, how, when and where of prayer.

Over the next 31 days, I will use quotes and excerpts from this timeless book to motivate and inspire myself and others to use this mighty force called “prayer”  to pray specifically for the United States of America.

I will offer “7 second” prayer suggestions. My great desire is to inspire a group of pray-ers to pray for America every day and every time they see a flag or a symbol of America. I am seeing sometimes ten flags or symbols in a day, and these little prayer/ proclamation moments make a difference. I’ve seen t-shirts, bathing suits, shorts, pocketbooks, umbrellas, hats and even shoes. These are reminders to pray. I invite you to join me in seeing how many you can find in a day. The more pray-ers we have declaring God’s blessings over America, the more power there is to turn this ship, America, back to God. It is not too late!

Whenever you see a symbol of America today,

Dare to Pray: God Bless America!

Do you feel an urgency or a desire to pray for our country? Let’s join together and see what God will do! Please let me know in the comments if you’re willing to give it a try this month. Come by each day for encouragement and to see what the “7 Second Prayer” is for the day. Please leave comments;  I really look forward to getting to know you. This page will be our “Table of Contents” so come back here to find each “Dare to Pray.” And here’s where you’ll find links to my friends in the Inspiration and Faith section of 31 Days of Writing. I’m #516.
