A to Z Scripture Adventure: K is Proverbs 4:23

Proverbs 4 23/>Yes, this is a repeated publication. For some reason, it appeared “unpublished” and not included in the series, so here it is again.

I may be more excited about the “K” verse than any other so far, though I love them all! Here’s the paraphrase of the King James Version that the students and I learned:

Keep your heart with all diligence, for that is where your life comes from. Proverbs 4:23

Proverbs 4 23bHere are more translations or paraphrases:

Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. Proverbs 4:23 NIV

Keep vigilant watch over your heart; that’s where life starts. Proverbs 4:23 The Message

Above all else, guard your affections. For they influence everything else in your life. Proverbs 4:23 TLB

Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life.Proverbs 4:23 AMP

Have you guessed why I am so excited about this verse? It is because by engaging in the A to Z K15Scripture Adventure, we are doing this! This is exactly what we are doing. Remember when we used to say, “I know it by heart.” That meant we had memorized something, and we could say it without thinking about it. It was in us. Through repetition, we are getting His Word in our hearts, and that is where our life comes from. I won’t spell it out for you, but let the Holy Spirit reveal to you what that means about your life! Get ready! It’s the old principle of GIGO at work. Garbage In, Garbage out. Good in, Good out! Expect good, fabulous, miraculous things to flow out of your life because you are “keeping” good things in your heart.

Remember the goal is ten times ten times, saying the verse 100 times in a day. (Thinking it counts, too!)

Of course, if you only do it ten times, that’s ten times better than one, so enjoy putting this stupendous verse in you today, and be excited about what will flow out of your life.

Visit the Prayer wall and choose someone to pray for! Blessings to you and yours today!

Also this would be a great day to visit Blogging A to Z Challenge 2015 where you will find over 2000 bloggers (I am #1092) who have accepted this challenge and are writing on a myriad of themes. Enjoy.

I need to feast on the Word of God, so that I can learn to “keep my heart” all the time.
